Talk to the current Chair. When there’s a vacancy you will be informed, and you’ll have a chance to stand for election.  Appointed Trustees, Members or LACs can be recruited any time there is a vacancy, and the person has a skill set that the board needs.

We are keen to recruit professionals of the highest calibre, but we are aware that not many people have the experience to step into a role and operate at a high level straight away.  So, REMAT will provide all the training and support that newly-appointed Trustees, Members or LACs need, including a full induction programme.

Before you put yourself forward, talk to your employer. Many employers recognise a role in governance as useful work experience and may offer paid leave for those duties.
